Our approach to medicine at Body Blu is creative. Unique. Individualistic. We understand that no two people are the same. Even if two people have the same diagnosis, they may need different therapies or treatments because their bodies + genetics are not the same. Creative medicine is the answer. It is a must to not only think outside of the box, but to act outside of it as well in order to achieve results.

Our medical studio reflects our environmental consciousness + natural specialization by physically representing the Five Elements – Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal + Water. Respectively, signifying growth + vitality; energy + abundance; balance + rejuvenation; harvest + collection; stillness + reflection. Our bamboo flooring (Wood), environmentally friendly wall-mounted fireplace (Fire), plants (Earth), reception desk (Metal) + fountain as well as our view of the ocean (Water) truly reflect the nature of our business. The business of natural health – for both people + planet.

• Bamboo Flooring. Our flooring is Fossilized™ Strand Bamboo. Typically, trees used in conventional wood flooring take 30-50 years to regenerate to their full mass. The removal of these trees causes negative environmental effects on both a local + global basis. Bamboo can be continuously re-harvested every 5 years for flooring without causing damage to the plant system + surrounding environment. [1]

• Low-VOC Paint. Using paint that is low in volatile organic compounds makes for a healthier environment – a healthier office space to promote ideal health for our patients, guests + employees.

• LED + CFL Light Bulbs. We employ these types of light bulbs because they are energy efficient + reduce air + water pollution. Saving electricity reduces CO2 emissions, sulfer oxide + high-level nuclear waste. Additionally, no mercury is used in the manufacturing of LEDs. Daylight bulbs are used in the office to complement our ocean view + natural environment.

• Water + Energy Saving Plumbing Fixtures. Our WaterSense faucet + dual flush high efficiency toilet help reserve natural resources.

• Energy Star Certified Products. One of the many ways Body Blu joins in the fight against climate change is by using Energy Star certified products — products that have been proven to offer superior energy efficiency. the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Energy Star program has the tools + resources you need to save money + energy.

• Recycled Paper + Paper Goods. Recycling paper conserves natural resources, saves energy, reduces greenhouse gas emissions + keeps landfill space free for other types of trash that can’t be recycled. Recycling one ton of paper can save 17 trees, 7,000 gallons of water, 380 gallons of oil, 3.3 cubic yards of landfill space + 4,000 kilowatts of energy — enough to power the average U.S. home for six months + reduce greenhouse gas emissions by one metric ton of carbon equivalent (MTCE).

• Furniture + Floor Coverings. Body Blu chooses to purchase from companies who contribute to sustainable employment whenever possible. Materials are natural, organic, recycled, reused +/or free of contaminants + volatile organic compounds.

• We Recycle. By recycling + buying recycled-content products, everyone can make a vital contribution to preserving the environment. Recycling is easy, it saves money, creates jobs, saves energy + preserves natural resources.
